Can I use the same tiles on both walls and floors throughout my project?

Many tiles in our collection are suitable for both wall and floor applications, but it is important to check the product specifications before ordering. Floor tiles need a sufficient slip-resistance rating, while wall tiles are often thinner and may not withstand foot traffic. Each product page clearly indicates whether a tile is rated for wall use, floor use, or both, so you can shop with confidence.

What sizes of tiles are available at Stoke Tiles, and how do I choose the right one for my room?

We stock tiles in a wide range of sizes, from small mosaic formats to large-format slabs, so there is something to suit every space. As a general rule, larger tiles can make a smaller room feel more open by reducing the number of grout lines, while smaller tiles add detail and texture to bigger areas. If you are unsure which size works best for your project, our team is happy to advise you before you order.

How do I calculate how many tiles I need for my renovation?

To calculate your tile quantity, measure the total area you wish to cover in square metres and then add a 10-15% overage to account for cuts, wastage, and any future replacements. You can find the coverage information on each product page to help you work out the number of boxes required. It is always better to order a little extra in one go, as dye lots can vary between production runs.

Do you offer tiles suitable for underfloor heating systems?

Yes, many of the tiles in our collection are compatible with underfloor heating, particularly our porcelain and ceramic floor tiles, which conduct and retain heat efficiently. We recommend checking the individual product page for compatibility details and following the tile manufacturer’s guidelines during installation. Ensuring your adhesive and grout are also rated for use with underfloor heating systems is equally important.

What is the difference between ceramic and porcelain tiles, and which should I choose?

Ceramic tiles are typically lighter, easier to cut, and well suited to wall applications and lower-traffic floor areas, making them a popular choice for bathrooms and kitchens. Porcelain tiles are denser, less porous, and more durable, making them ideal for high-traffic floors, wet rooms, and even outdoor spaces. The right choice depends on where the tiles will be installed and the level of wear they need to withstand.
