Yes, the gloss-finished wall tiles in the Handmade Metro range are suitable for use in wet areas including shower enclosures, provided they are correctly installed with a waterproof tanking system behind the tiles and appropriate waterproof grout and silicone joints at all internal corners. Always ensure your installer follows current British Standards for wet area tiling to achieve a long-lasting, watertight finish.

Due to the handmade nature of these tiles, slight size variations between individual pieces are entirely normal and part of their charm. A slightly wider grout joint of around 3-5mm is recommended to accommodate these natural variations and ensure an even, well-proportioned finish across your wall – a joint that is too tight may highlight any size inconsistencies between tiles.

The classic brick bond (stretcher bond) pattern – where each row is offset by half a tile – is the most popular choice for the Handmade Metro range and naturally suits the 150x75mm format. For a more contemporary look, a vertical stack bond or herringbone pattern can also work well and will give the same tiles a noticeably different character depending on the feel you want to achieve.
