FAQs
Xtone questions
XTONE is a sub-brand of the Porcelanosa Group, produced by Urbatek, which specialises in large-format, high-performance sintered stone and porcelain surfaces. It sits at the premium end of the Porcelanosa offering and is renowned for producing tiles and surfaces in unusually large formats with exceptional technical performance. When you buy XTONE through Stoke Tiles, you are purchasing a product that benefits from Porcelanosa Group’s decades of Spanish manufacturing expertise and quality control.
XTONE surfaces are produced using advanced sintering technology, which results in an extremely dense, hard-wearing material that is highly resistant to scratches, stains, heat, and UV light. The large-format slabs create a seamless, architectural appearance that standard-sized tiles simply cannot replicate. This makes XTONE particularly popular for statement walls, floors, and even worktops in high-end residential and commercial projects.
Many XTONE products are genuinely versatile and can be specified for internal walls, internal floors, and in some cases external applications, though this varies by individual product. You should always check the technical data sheet on the specific product listing to confirm the recommended applications and ensure the slip-resistance rating is appropriate for your intended use. If you are planning an outdoor installation, look for tiles that are rated frost-resistant as well.
Yes, because many XTONE slabs are produced in very large formats, professional installation is strongly recommended. Large-format tiles require a perfectly flat, well-prepared substrate to avoid lippage, and they typically need specialist cutting equipment and handling to avoid breakage. Hiring an experienced tiler who has worked with large-format porcelain before will help ensure a flawless finish and avoid costly mistakes.
