The Harbour Stone tiles feature 12 unique face variations across each batch, which means the speckled stone effect pattern is distributed naturally across your patio without obvious repeats. This gives the finished surface a realistic, organic appearance that closely resembles natural stone without the high maintenance it requires.
The 1200 x 600mm format combined with the 20mm thickness does make individual Harbour tiles quite heavy, so we strongly recommend having two people available for laying and handling. For a dry-lay or pedestal installation on a roof terrace or raised deck, it is worth discussing with your installer whether additional pedestal support points are needed to adequately support the larger slab size.
Yes, the Harbour tiles are rated to at least R11 for slip resistance, which is the standard recommended for outdoor patio and terrace surfaces that are regularly exposed to rain. The speckled surface texture helps channel water away from the contact area underfoot, providing confident grip in wet conditions.
The Harbour Stone tiles are made from dense 20mm porcelain with very low water absorption, making them fully frost resistant and suitable for permanent outdoor installation throughout the UK. Unlike natural stone, the porcelain composition does not absorb moisture that could expand and cause cracking during cold snaps.
The neutral stone effect and large 1200 x 600mm format of the Harbour tiles make them an excellent choice for visually connecting an interior room with an outdoor patio or terrace. Bear in mind that the outdoor 20mm version differs from any indoor equivalent in thickness and surface finish, so your installer will need to account for the level difference at the threshold between the two areas.
