Newstone Slate Effect

Yes, the Newstone Slate Effect tiles are compatible with underfloor heating systems, which is one of the key advantages of choosing porcelain for your floor. Porcelain conducts and retains heat efficiently, and when paired with the right flexible tile adhesive, it performs reliably over the long term with a heated subfloor.

The matt surface finish on the Newstone Slate Effect tiles is specifically beneficial in high-traffic areas like kitchens and hallways, as it naturally disguises everyday smudges, scuffs, and watermarks far better than a gloss tile would. A quick sweep and a damp mop with a mild cleaner is all that is typically needed to keep them looking well maintained.

Yes, the Newstone Slate Effect tiles are made from strong porcelain suitable for both walls and floors, so you can use them across multiple surfaces for a cohesive, contemporary look. Using the same slate-effect tile from floor to wall is a popular approach in modern shower rooms and bathroom renovations, helping to create a seamless, spa-like aesthetic.

The neutral colouring of these tiles makes them exceptionally easy to pair with a wide range of finishes – from timber-effect furniture and warm brass fittings through to cool concrete surfaces and white sanitaryware. This versatility means they work as a foundation in kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas without clashing with your existing or planned decor.

In a kitchen setting, ensure your subfloor is level, clean, and structurally sound before laying these porcelain tiles, as any movement or unevenness beneath can cause cracking over time. Using a flexible adhesive is advisable in areas subject to slight vibration or temperature fluctuation, and selecting a grout colour that complements the slate effect – such as a mid-grey – will help tie the whole look together neatly.
