The square Aire Blue Matt is 150x150mm and suits a more traditional grid layout. If you want a contemporary, on-trend look with a nod to classic underground-style tiling, the metro format is the stronger choice, while the square format feels more timeless and versatile.

Yes – the Aire Blue Matt Metro tiles are 7mm thick, compared to 5.5mm for the square Aire Blue Matt, so they are slightly more substantial. This means you should ensure your adhesive bed depth accounts for the extra thickness, particularly if you are tiling over an existing surface or need to match up with adjacent tiles of a different thickness. It is worth discussing this with your tiler beforehand if you are planning to use both tile formats in the same room.

Each box of Aire Blue Matt Metro tiles contains 50 tiles and covers approximately 1.01m², which is slightly more per box than the square tiles in the Monocolour range. The 100x200mm format means you get more individual tiles per box, which gives you greater flexibility when cutting and fitting around obstacles such as sockets, pipes, or window reveals. As with any tile project, we recommend adding around 10% extra to your total order to allow for cuts and potential breakages.
