A 5kg bag of Mapei Ultracolor Plus 174 Tornado Grey grout covers approximately 15 square metres, though your actual coverage will vary depending on the size of your tiles and the width of your grout joints. Larger tiles with wider joints will use more grout, so it is worth calculating your joint area carefully before ordering to make sure you have enough to complete the job in one batch.
Mapei Ultracolor Plus 174 Tornado Grey is specifically suited to bathroom and kitchen walls, making it an excellent choice for wet and humid environments. It features BioBlock Technology, which provides built-in mould resistance, and its water-repellent formula means the surface stays cleaner for longer and is easy to wipe down. These properties make it a practical and long-lasting option for grouting wall tiles in splash-prone areas.
Once mixed, the grout has a pot life of 20-25 minutes, so it is best to work in manageable sections. You should wait 15-30 minutes after application before finishing and cleaning off the surface. The grouted area can take light foot traffic after approximately 3 hours, though allowing a full cure before heavy use is always recommended for best results.
