The 20mm thickness is specifically engineered for outdoor use, giving the tile the structural strength to be laid on a bed of sand and cement or even directly onto prepared gravel without cracking under foot traffic, garden furniture, or temperature fluctuations. This robust construction is what sets the Rapolano 20mm apart from standard indoor tiles and makes it suitable for driveways, patios, and walkways. Using a thinner indoor tile outdoors risks cracking and premature failure, so the extra thickness is genuinely important.

These tiles carry an R11 slip resistance rating, which is the higher of the two outdoor ratings in this Rapolano range and is specifically recommended for outdoor areas that are regularly exposed to rain, puddles, or damp conditions. The matt anti-slip finish works alongside the R11 rating to provide a safe surface underfoot around patios, pool surrounds, or garden paths. This makes them a confident choice where safety in wet weather is a priority.

Each box contains 1 tile covering 0.72m², so for a 15m² patio you would need a minimum of 21 boxes based purely on coverage. However, we strongly recommend adding at least 10% for cuts and waste, bringing your total to approximately 23-24 boxes. Measuring your space carefully and accounting for any irregular edges or cuts around borders will help you arrive at a more precise figure before ordering.
